Das Christoph-von-Schmid-Denkmal auf dem Marktplatz vor der St.-Georgs-Kirche in Dinkelsbühl ehrt den hier geborenen Priester und berühmten Jugendbuchautor. Die am 12. Oktober 1859 enthüllte Bronzestatue von Max von Widnmann trägt die Inschrift „Dem Erzähler der Jugend“. Christoph von Schmid (1768–1854) war ein katholischer Priester, Schulrat und Verfasser zahlreicher Jugendschriften. Er schuf unter anderem den Text des weltbekannten Weihnachtsliedes „Ihr Kinderlein kommet“.

The Christoph von Schmid monument on the market square in front of St George’s Church in Dinkelsbühl honours the priest and famous author of children’s books, who was born here.
