Inmitten eines wunderschönen Rokoko-Parks in Veitshöchheim liegt die ehemalige Sommerresidenz der Würzburger Fürstbischöfe. Ursprünglich ein Jagdstützpunkt, entstand hier unter Fürstbischof Peter Philipp von Dernbach 1680 bis 1682 das Sommerschloss, das 1749 bis 1753 durch Balthasar Neumann erweitert wurde. Seit der Säkularisation 1804 gehört das Schloss und der Garten dem bayerischen Staat.

Amidst a beautiful Rococo park in Veitshöchheim lies the former summer residence of the Prince-Bishops of Würzburg. Originally a hunting lodge, the summer palace was built here between 1680 and 1682 under Prince-Bishop Peter Philipp von Dernbach, and later expanded between 1749 and 1753 by Balthasar Neumann. Since the secularization in 1804, the palace and its gardens have belonged to the Bavarian state."
