Es handelt sich wohl um eine Variante der Kronen-Anemone (Anemone coronia, Windflower), die im Mittelmeerraum heimisch ist. Als Zierpflanze kann sie in Wintergärten gehalten werden, sowie in Steingärten wintermilder Gebiete.
