Canada Tour Hazelton Sternwheeler

The Hazelton, a sternwheeler that operated on the Skeena River from 1901 to 1912. The first owner was Robert Cunningham, who operated a freight company that served communities along the Skeena River.
The Hazelton was named after one of the settlements it served, Hazelton, one of the oldest towns in northern British Columbia, founded in 1866 and the main staging area for the Omineca gold rush.
The Hazelton was launched in 1901 , in her first season she made 13 trips to Hazelton and set a new speed record by covering the 180 miles upstream in only forty hours. The return trip downriver was even faster, the Hazelton routinely making it in ten hours.

Today, the Hazelton is used as a home and museum
