there are lots of migrants out there
who starve faster
than if they are stayed in their countries

meanwhile

others drown on the crossing
their bodies first sink
then float up swallen
covered with salty blisters
which burst
stinking
like soap bubbles blown by choldren

do que se tivesse ficado no seu país

entretanto

há outros que se afogam na travessia
os corpos primeiro afundam-se
depois emergem inchados
cobertos de pústulas salgadas
que rebentam
fétidas
como bolas de sabão sopradas por crianças
