Mit ihrer Pracht und Vielfalt ziehen Blumen uns seit jeher in ihren Bann. Zudem besitzen sie große Symbolkraft – sei es in der Mythologie, Religion, Kunst oder Politik. In früheren Jahrhunderten waren Blumen begehrte Statussymbole...
Flowers Forever bietet mit Objekten aus Kunst, Design, Mode und Naturwissenschaft einen faszinierenden, aufwendig inszenierten Rundgang durch die Kulturgeschichte der Blume vom Altertum bis heute.

Die Präsentation versammelt rund 170 Werke aus internationalen Sammlungen sowie eigens für die Ausstellung entstandene Installationen. Bedeutende Positionen der Kunst- und Designgeschichte treten dabei mit neu zu entdeckenden künstlerischen Ansätzen in einen fruchtbaren Dialog.
Die Ausstellung zeigt Werke von Jan Brueghel dem Jüngeren, Abraham Mignon, Barbara Regina Dietzsch, Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Hannah Höch, Andreas Gursky, Miguel Chevalier, Ann Carrington, Patricia Kaersenhout, Kehinde Wiley, DRIFT und vielen weiteren Künstler:innen. Sie alle machen die facettenreiche Kulturgeschichte der Blumen auf eindrückliche Weise erlebbar.

Stimmt!! Ich muss mich immer noch daran gewöhnen, denn so lange habe ich meine lesebrille noch nicht. Und manchmal brauche ich sie auch gar nicht...aber manchmal halt dann doch ;-))
