Geothermal shower!

(I'll be off to the Hamburg meeting, see you back next week.)

This hot shower by the road to Krafla Geothermal Power Plant (Kröfluvirkjun) is fully functional with 40°C hot water.
It makes use of an abandoned borehole but nobody really knows how it got there- supposedly it is an art installation (at one time there was also a washbasin and a toilet;-)

Kröfluvirkjun is where they accidentally drilled into the magma chamber of Krafla volcano. Now there are plans to do this again and utilize the energy.

I admit also that it was an installation that took advantage of the contrast between ice and water at 40ºC.
Interesting effect!

Have a nice week, Gdrun!
