These are old ammo storages. But when I saw them especially from this point of view, the first thing came into my mind was Shire from the story 'Lord of The Rings' by J.R.R. Tolkien.
Fascinating, Sami! (I like old fortresses.) Is this photo edited to look like a fairyland, or does the place already look like one. Cut a couple of skylights in one and I'll live in it!
The picture is edited but I no longer can't remember what I did exactly. It is also blurry because it is taken with low quality pocket camera.
When you would see one of them inside, you would never live in one! =D There's strairs going even deeper underground. There are several meters of ground to protect those ammo storages. They are no longer used, and inside they are in rather bad condition, and of course cold and moist.
I had the opportunity to know your fascinating country on a car trip. I do not know this wonderful architecture , Impressive picture, Best wishes, Anton.
