Whoaaa! Impressive edit, Sami! I wish I could find a free editor that had the Difference effect without textures like Metal or Fabric. This one is really gorgeous - PShop, I suppose.
Nope! I used PicMonkey (fully free for us Ipernity users), and technique I explained earlier ;-)
1) First download my gradient "texture": dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/475052/Pictures/gradient.jpg
2) Then on Ipernity open your own picture on PicMonkey editor.
3) Go to 'Textures > Your own > Add your own' to open the downloaded gradient texture.
4) Change the blend mode to 'Difference'.
5) To change the direction, use 'Move' option.
Finally you may want to "boost" the image. Try for example 'Basic edits > Auto adjust'.
