"Macar dets Alocs"

Menorca: Els Alocs.
This area has been considerably cleaned up. All shacks and old decrepit houses have been razed and the ecosystem is being repaired. There is only one house left (see top-right corner with the Quixote sculpture).
There is no consensus about the spelling of this place-name. In the new Guía Camí de Cavalls [Fundació Destí Menorca 2010], it is systematically "Els Alocs." In other places, including the old Mapa Arqueológico de Menorca of J. Mascaró Pasarius, it is "Ets Alocs." For the moment, I'll stick to the Guía.
Incidentally, aloc is the Catalan name of the plant Vitex agnus-castus. BUT, in the vernacular spoken in Menorca and Mallorca, a macar is a place full of macs, that is, round stones no bigger than a person's hand. (The word is also used for a clumsy, bumbling, slow-witted person :)

Well then, more blockish on black: press Z (or click the picture :)

A Celebration of Don Quixote
A group of friends erected this monument in 2005 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the publication of Cervantes's masterpiece. This is what the plaque says:

A UN LLOC DETS ALOCS
QUE SEMPRE RECORDAREM
UN GRUP DAMICS MUS VAM
REUNIR PER CELEBRAR ELS
400 ANYS DEL
QUIXOT 15-10 2005
