Not aware of the puppy farming thing, Pam...tell me more. I confess to buying a fresh loaf of bread from them though.
I grew up in a twatish, small minded, controlling religious cult with similar ideals, and whilst i found it interesting to see, found myself hoping that these poor kids would run away from their brainwashing as soon as they were old enough and able, as I did, and make a better life for themselves.
Totally agree with you Phill.... my anger isnt against the kids.... my hope for them is the same as yours.
I know your story a little... and I knew you would feel for those kids.(Just know there are folk who DO care and WILL fight with every breath for the deserved compassion and joy of life)
I have sent you an email about Puppy farms/mills..... it isnt nice or pretty... its vile horror frankly... and it isnt just Amish.. its many other sub human "people".
I am not afraid to speak out against "Puppy farms."
But I do not want to put the horror out where possible kids may see such as on a forum like this..
ANYONE who wants to ask me... I will willingly answer privately
I'm kinda surprised they're caught up in that crap Pam, having read your mail, as most of the stock I saw looked in quite good nick, especially the horses, bar a few who were filthy and clearly lame. I struggle to understand how this fits in with with any kind of genuine religious morality, not that religion and morals have ever gone hand in hand of course. A rotten trade.
You want a puppy.. do a search online and in minutes you can "order" the pup of choice. The fact that its mother is .....well you saw the pics....
Its a huge money trade. MOST reputable pet shops have stopped it now... but not all. Its taken people demonstrating outside many places.. and even the Law doesnt care much.. but some ethical states are now doing so.

I very carefully read labels to make sure I buy nothing from them as farmers or manufacturers.
Puppy farming is vile.. and I will condone no part of it. They just see it as "business"

Morals... ethics.. and money rarely go together.
