I'm pleased you liked it Gunter it was a cold morning so the steam was swirling around the locomotive if you want to see more photos of the railway read my comment to Keith
Thank you Keith it's at Loughborough tThe Great Central Railway if you want to see more photos of the railway search for Loose Grip/Pete he is a volunteer there and has some wonderful photos
I love this shot Peter. It reminds me of when I used to travel to Salisbury from my local Railway Station in the 1960's. I loved it when the steam filled the station. Very evocative of an earlier time!
Have a good new week Peter.
There is certainly something magical about steam trains although diesel and electric are more practical, I used to travel on the line in it's prime often non corridor coaches , closing the Great Central was one of Beechings more stupid ideas. There is another section that is preserved they are working to reconnecting them giving an 18mile route
A wonderful image of yesterday taken today. I love steam and even have steam train sims. A very nice engine here with some history. A fair size I think too with the 4-6-0 wheel configuration. As you say above, our friend Pete works on these. Hard work but a beautiful hobby. Well done.
