The Treadgold Fish

Taken on the Sea Front at Southsea, Hampshire on a pretty grotty afternoon. This "sculpture" is made from scrap metal and is used to collect plastic bottles in the fight against plastic waste. It moves around the city to wherever it's needed.

I've photographed this a few times over the years. There's a shot from 2019 in the link below:

Keith Burton replied to Günter Klaus:

I'm really happy you like this image Güni.......the "fish" is one of my favourite things I see around this area and I always try and get some photos of it whenever I see it.

It was a colourless, miserable day, so I thought black and white would be appropriate.

A wonderful piece of art that looks better empty than full in my opinion, Keith
This is a wonderful scenic location for it, and you have captured it perfectly, beneath a cloudy but interesting sky and some rather nice light., I like this!

Keith Burton replied to Roger (Grisly):

Thank you so much Roger.......I also think it looks better empty (especially in silhouette form), but I suppose it only fulfils it's purpose when it gets full :-))

It was pretty dull and miserable at the time I took this, so I thought black and white was appropriate. The sun did come out for a while though.

Have a good weekend my friend.

This is a stunning picture of this scene - you can see there is a picture of a bird in its shape. Wonderful really. I looked at your earlier photo of the same scene, and it was full of squashed cans. Perfect.

I wish you a great weekend though
