HWW Downpatrick Head Co. Mayo Ireland 17th September 2026

North of Ballycastle Dún Briste sea stack is a windswept and wave beaten feature just off Downpatrick Head on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.

The geological section is made up of flat-lying Lower Carboniferous marine mudstones, siltstones, calcareous shales, alluvial and deltaic sandstones, with marine bioclastic (crinoidal) limestones.
