In Benidorm the tourist season seemed to be still in full swing and the prom and streets were teeming with people whereas on my first visit in 2021 it was more laid back, maybe because Covid times were still lingering and it kept the numbers down.

The original old town & castle with its steeply dipping limestone beds and terrace on the headland between the Levante and Poniente beaches is well worth a visit.
