Each bundle of blossoms is influenced by particular roots, which take their minerals from small, particular gobs of soil...so...they are extremely sensitive to particulars! ;-b I once (long ago) had a big hydrangea that I had dosed with a large amount of ammonium chloride. The general theme was intense, deep blue, but with variations including violet, deep pink, pale pink, light blue. The effect was stunning.
