Happy Fence Friday, All

Part of High Street, Oxford that includes the University Church. To the locals it is generally known as "The High". It has been one of the main thoroughfares and has been central to the city since medieval times.

This is just a small part of "The High". Many of Oxford’s passages, streets and lanes run off "The High" and these date back centuries, often serving as shortcuts or connecting routes between more prominent streets. Every time I visit I usually choose a different route :-)))

I think the building next the telephone box is a very large house but I think the other buildings aren't exactly houses :-)) The other main building here is part of All Souls College. Parts are probably used for accommodation but equally some parts will be tutor rooms and some parts used for college office type accommodation :-)) I would like to investigate more. All Souls College is open to the public most afternoons and you don't have to pay to walk around the grounds and go into the Chapel. But, you ain't allowed to go inside any other parts of the College :-))

Indeed, I should have written "row of buildings"...
I guess they don't want to share the mysteries of their science with amateurs ;-))
