Outback panorama

Out on the road between Boulia and Winton in western Queensland. It's a big and mostly dry and flat country - an ancient landscape with hills that have eroded over the millenia to flat tops. It can be hard to believe that a few million years ago it had a much wetter climate and lush vegetation. Stitched panorama, view large - see PiP also.

No, this is in western Queensland, Ayers Rock (Uluru) is in central Australia, about 1300km to the south west.

Enorme paisaje. Tu descripción me aclara en buena medida las dudas que tenía sobre la orografía y falta de lluvias de esa región, con aspecto tan seco y árido. Gracias George.

I remember such landscapes very fondly, because I got to know them on my trip to Australia. We crossed the country from south to north. First by Ghan to Alice Springs and then by bus to Darwin...
