Through the forest

Looking through some open forest in the Murramarang National Park. In the lower level are lots of cycads, commonly called Burrawangs, which go by the botanical name "Macrozamia communis".

Lovely cycads, George. They are amazing things…specially when you think how absolutely ancient a species they are.

The ground covering of the cycads looks beautiful and so different to anything I have seen. An excellent shot and always good to learn from your pictures George.

This is your mid winter, and it almost looks like mid summer. The cycads look prehistoric.
