G'day George and happy new year to you and yours .... not forgetting the little four legged one ;-) hope the fires and flooding your side of the world has eased somewhat ... here we are braced for even more to start ... with some snow in Scotland also ... there seems to be no end in sight with all of this ... it is a nightmare .... we are warm and dry thank goodness ... but it is damp everywhere ... even our garden is getting sodden ... but ... we are ok and we have to be thankful for that ... the roof is still on ;-) yes sad news about my friend ... never a good time is it ... but new years eve ... seems extra sad somehow. Enjoy your day ... whatever you might do ;-)
