Sea Lion Colony

Enderby Island has one of the main colonies of Hooker Sea Lions. We were not permitted ashore here, so (see inset notes) these images and the earlier ones of the penguins were taken from the zodiacs. These Sea Lions are considered endangered, with total numbers of only about 10,000. The difference between the males and females is quite striking.

Explored.

Looks like a sculpture installation. I've always liked the elegance of seals and sea lions.

Great capture! Is this the only place they occur, then?

That bull was showing you he was very proud to pose for you George (pride of sea lions).
And you are showing us some marvellous unique photos. At least here on Ip I'm sure they are unique.

Great shot. Those white-ish females are real lookers, quite different from our drab brown ones.
