Virginia Range, Nevada, USA

Unnamed little basin a few miles from my house. We often take our dogs for a run there.

We hope! Right now we (and much of the US mountain west) are in a serious drought.

Lovely shot.

The Olympics are not a place where wildfires are a great problem because of all the rain. Human caused fires have really not done that much damage in the Olympics.

Yeah, western Wash. is not usually at much risk for fire--unless there's a drought! Then there's lots of fuel... Happened once when we were living in western Washington, ca. 1983, and there was lots of concern. A historical precedent that everyone was pointing to was around 1912, when a huge fire devastated much of the forest around (IIRC) Tacoma.
