Sand Mountain

Churchill County, Nevada, just off US 50. A natural-looking pic; the ATVs have gone home, and there's been enough wind to smooth off their tracks!

Beautiful. How high can those dunes be? Are they always at the same spot or do they "walk" around?

Thanks! They're even in Wikipedia, which shows them as 600' (180 m) high The dune pretty much stays in place, but there's a flux of sand thru it. Sand extends over the gap in the mountains into the valley behind. I've been around there, but didn't have a good camera then.
