Hiland - that's a name I haven't heard before, so I had to look it up. "The name Hiland is derived from Old English, which often incorporates natural elements in its meanings and word structures." One seems to see it more often as a surname. Cool. I wonder if it's the father or son's name!

Thanks, Laura! I am always interested in names - and like you, had never heard the name Hiland before. Hadn’t thought of it as “high land”!
The man who gave me these to scan has passed away now, but he had the most amazing personal collection of things I’ve ever seen. (A huge room full of vacuum cleaners dating from the beginning of their existence, for example.)
He owned an old barn and many, many outbuildings that were incredibly full - but set up like a series of wonderfully set up museums.
He was an amazing character.
