Anna Klemming by Florman
Anna Klemming (1864-1889); Swedish soprano.
She received vocal training from Hjalmar Håkansson and baritone Fritz Arlberg. In 1886 she made her debut in the Concert Hall at Malmö. In 1887 she debuted at the Stockholm Royal Opera as Mathilde in Rossini's "Guillaume Tell". Her repertoire included Juliette in "Roméo et Juliette ", Agathe in "Der Freischütz ", Elsa in "Lohengrin" , Venus in "Tannhäuser" , Anna in "Don Juan ", Valentine in" Les Huguenots" and Marie in" La fille du Régiment. She died very young at the age of 25; it was said she overworked herself by chosing a too heavy and demanding repertoire.
