The Ghost Trees of Shenandoah

Chestnut trees along Skyline Drive in Virginia destroyed by Chestnut blight over seventy years ago. Chestnut trees used to be among the most common trees in the Shenandoah valley. Now only their skeletons remain. Unfortunately, foreign insect invaders are continuing to decimate certain species of trees in this region.
