the old sir walter stjohn's grammar school on the high street in battersea, part of butterfield's school buildings. why the unicorn ? it's not the sinjon crest, or the school's.
I checked the st.thomas' prep school website, and it is indeed their crest, though I doubt it's registered with the college of arms, being a unicorn holding a shield in a rather unheraldic manner. I wondered why the website showed only one black pupil amongst the hundreds that attend their schools, and then saw the fees - around £6000 per term. . . they claim to train their pupils to be ready to run corporations and countries !
Stiffleaf is correct!
Not Butterfield, Jim. I only recalled that about you going to the school later. I met up with some friends for a walk along the foreshore from Battersea village to bridge. Took this on my way past walking from Clapham Junction.
Lots of interest. Must get over that way again...
