Carleton St Peter Church

I find myself in Norfolk occasionally and I particularly like exploring the lanes and rights of way in this lovely rural place...whilst feasting on the tasty blackberries that are everywhere at this time of year. The churches are all similar, but unique. There's loads of them dotted about and they are all mostly clad in flint.

A great church scene here Chris. I like the wide angle you have taken this with which gives it a little more space and makes the sky more interesting. You are quite right about the amount of flint in this area.

The burial ground reminds me of this one:
The time cometh!

Chris Bowness replied to Herb Riddle:

Thank you very much Herb and thank you also for sharing your very atmospheric image. I'm actually stuck with one wide angle lense for now. I got it for night photography at the point my interest in photography with cameras was waning. I want to get other lenses, but I am holding off until I know that I'll use them - phones do so much and they fit in a pocket. I love the flint in Norfolk. They were sitting on a gold mine in the past!

Norfolk certainly is the county for churches. Many have square towers likes this, but there are some with round towers and octagonal towers, and even spires occasionally. But yes you're right, all that I have ever seen are clad in flint. Lovely scene, Chris.

Thank you Amelia. I've been visiting Norfolk the last few years and I love wondering around all the rights of ways. It's fantastic and so much to see, I've hardly begun to discover!
