Thank you for your comments. We went to the zoo with our children and their cousin. I think one of them is in the foreground holding a food item, but it was long ago, and I don’t remember. FYI, the Bronx Zoo is wonderful and a great place to visit with or without children.

wow. such proximity to a wild beast would not be possible in German Zoos.....

Telefoto lens compression makes the tiger look closer to the child than it was. There was absolutely no way the child could have put a finger through the fence. We were still pretty close though, and the tiger was very cooperative.
