Rock and Fence (PiP) (HFF)

At the entrance to the local fairgrounds, they have a typical rock. I think that the fence is there to protect the rock, or protect the cars that might run into it.

This native stone is used in many buildings in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area. Not so many years ago, it was quarried and used regionally.

The Picture-in-a-Picture shows a LOT more of these rocks at the Sioux Falls park.

You see these boulders around, as the farmers who ploughed them up, decided they were too large to completely remove, so they shoved them over to the corner of their field.

The plaque indicates the entrance to the fairgrounds.

You can see the parking tram in the background, taking fair visitors to and from the parking area.

Of course, it is better to drive normally on the road but otherwise, it is actually better to drive into the fence than into this rock!!! HFF Robert.

A lot of these rocks are used here at entrances to fields and parks to prevent unauthorised vehicles from parking there. Gipsies and travellers camp in such places and leave a mess for councils to clear up and wait for eviction notices to take effect before moving on to another site. Hence the need to prevent it from happening. Great textures Robert
HFF and have a good weekend

Robert Swanson replied to Ecobird:

Yes, we had a few problems with these things when we were traveling in our motorhome. Scraped some fiberglass a few times on invisible, low barriers. At least we could see the large rocks, and try to avoid them.
