Family and Friends

It's important to have family and friends. Sometimes, though, our friends are more like family, and our family can be more like friends. It all depends on what we need from ... or give to ... each other.

The people around us most influence where and how we go in life, and us with them. So, it's wise to pick and choose who we spend most our time with.

Life is too short ....

I can see how these people connect. Their faces are unclear, their attire non-important, but there is a strong bond between them.

Yes, Marta, you picked that up correctly ... my vision for it. With the black and white to enforce the story telling.

Your words are sunny, Frank, but the image.....Without these accompanying words the photograph brings with it associations of encroaching darkness, a meeting shrouded in sorrow. I remember some dark etchings by Munch that had the same atmosphere for me!

Frank J Casella replied to Steve Bucknell:

Interesting viewpoint, Steve. This is why I was compelled to post a description. Some images have three second impact, and others need more context. Still others, I believe, that need more context are best left for the viewers interpretation. It all depends on what message the artist intends to convey to the viewer, I think.
