"Quoddy Dam", Passenger Ferry (3 of 3)

This passenger ferry travels back-and-forth between Eastport and Lubec Maine; a difficult trip in inclement weather, no roof. The notice board on the back of the wheelhouse says "Watch for whales and seals", and also says "Please use restrooms [means washroom/lavatory/the loo] ashore before departure."

The vehicle ferry service between Eastport, Lubec, and Deer Island (New Brunswick Canada) went out-of-business pre-Covid. During the height of Covid, the international bridge between Lubec and Campobello Island Canada was closed, so contact between these rural areas on both sides of the Can-Am border along the St Croix estuary was severely restricted.

Lovely perspective and a well composed image, neatly framing the boat name. Ferry closures for whatever reason must make some people in rural areas feel quite cut off and vulnerable.

HFF and have a good weekend
