A ''Happy fence Friday'' to all - from > Dj...
''The Royal oak'' ,. centre,. stands very close to 'Boscobel house', [[ see pip ]] the Oak is believed to be a direct descendant of the original tree used by 'King Charles II' to hide from Parliamentary soldiers. The exhausted King slept for some time before returning to Boscobel House that evening on September 6, 1651, fleeing from Parliamentary forces following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester on September 3, 1651.
