A 'Happy wall Wednesday' to all - from > Dj.

A view down onto the 'Ladybower reservoir' pictured from - 'Bamford edge' // 'Ashopton' viaduct' is seen to the right,. named after the flooded village which lies beneath.
In the early 1940s, Ashopton along with neighbouring village of 'Derwent' was demolished to make way for the filling of Ladybower Reservoir. Village remains can still be seen and approached at low water.

A lovely scene Dj……sad to think of the villages and all their history lying beneath the water. But it makes a grand outlook, and certainly needed for water storage too! Have a super Wednesday and a top week….Diana

This is really beautiful David. Lovely light, a great view over the reservoir and I love the little dry stone wall in the foreground. So attractive.
