Siebenpunkt (4 PiPs)

Aus dem Mikrokosmos meines Gartens.

Diesen Siebenpunkt-Marienkäfer (Coccinella septempunctata) beobachtete ich auf einer Kugeldistel (Echinops bannaticus). Die Käfer werden 5 bis 8 mm groß. Jede Larve des Käfers frisst während ihrer Entwicklung etwa 400 Blattläuse. Der Siebenpunkt gilt als Glückskäfer.

A great find Wilhelm..............and a wonderful series of macro images. The ladybird is really lovely, as is the colour of the thistle it's climbing on.

Each image is sharp and detailed where it needs to be, with lovely light and a background that allows the ladybird to really stand out!

I like them all, but the second PiP deserves a special mention..!!
