Hi dear LGM ~ I used to eat them raw straight off the field. I'd check that the skin peeled cleanly off first as that was it I seem to remember ~ but as my memory is now deteriorating I stick to the shops. You used the be able to buy a box and grow your own ~ which we did a few times in the late seventies
