We became the first UK port of call for brand new cruise line, Explora Journeys, on Saturday (29 July) as Explora 1 made her inaugural call to the city.
Hi Nick
A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Very nice composition, especially what I think is a line of white painted pipes forming that big curve across the scene. (I did look on Google satellite view......)
Certainly you have a great view from your apartment!
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!
Peter
Thanks for your comments. We probably have one of the best viewing points along the south coast having 360 degrees of the Solent and IOW. Thanks for the HFF and kind wishes ~~~ Enjoy the rest of your weekend ~ All the best ~ Nick
What a great view you have from the balcony Nick! Well done Portsmouth. Thanks for the two links. Let's hope for better weather next week and more pictures from your balcony :-))
Hi Rosa, yes we are very lucky. We went down there having no idea that there was so much important stuff due over the weekend. It is always nice to witness the maiden cruise of a new cruiser and it was good to see HMS Prince of Wales back in action again.
We are back in CSP now, hopefully the wind speed will have dropped by the time the storm hits here.
The sun has reappeared in the last half hour :) Enjoy what remains of the weekend :)
HEY NICK!!! what an exciting experience there from your balcony!!!! Explora Journeys is a Beauty Nick.! Happy for the UK that its first port-of-call was there right beneath you !!!! :))
glad you got yo see this but now back at CSP ! rest and stay well, Best of wishes, with a Hug too.. Sarah
Superb views from your apartment, dear Nick. I thought I recognized The Prince of Wales, fresh from the repair shop at Rosyth. Hopefully, now she is back home, she is now fully functional and fit for active service.
That Explorer looks a very nice ship Nick. It would no doubt have been very good to have done that Fjord cruise in her. You are lucky to see such things close to home.
