Wow, I do like that purple coloured lights, I can see why you took this picture - it's gorgeous.

I qualified as a TEFL teacher many years ago, because I was working at an Academy for International students. I also used to have foreign students stay in my home and it certainly did help me to talk to them, explaining why we say certain things a certain way and help them with their studies. Maybe that's why it helps me to correspond with my son-in-law who's Turkish.

Ha, ha.............a small world. I gained a Diploma in TEFL just before I left the RN, twenty-odd years ago. Part time teaching was my "back up" plan in case I couldn't get a full time job. I never got to use the skills I learned :-)

Anyway, I love the light and warm colours in this shot Andy...............and the detail is superb. Very nice indeed!

Andy Rodker replied to Keith Burton:

Interesting, Keith! When I did my TEFL, in Truro, Cornwall, A few on the course were current or ex services personnel!
I think I was the only one on the course that actually went through with it to persue a second career!

Keith Burton replied to Andy Rodker:

I found the course very hard work.............I was 45 and had never much thought about basic English grammar since I left school. Everyone else on the course was in their early twenties and younger. I had a lot of cramming to do to keep up :-))

Andy Rodker replied to Keith Burton:

Keith ... you and me ... the same, except I was over 50!. I have since spoken to TEFL trainers, and they say that since the 60s, all TEFL courses have had to include 50% grammar tuition as they know that only private school pupils have been taught it since the war!
I certainly wasn't!
