The answer! (I think!)

Well, I think they are the upper parts of ventilation shafts with grilles to stop birds getting in. There is reflection back from the building where I am taking the shot. I don't know what the material is to allow the reflection as I can't imagine glass would be used.
One or two of you got very close - well done!!

Oh, about the Santa [ you re-visited ] --- yes, he is looking toward the front door - no, it isn't a prison .. the only people who come to the front door .. are 1) lost; 2) selling something; 3) trying to convert us.
