This is the Yellow Slime Mold, also known as Dog-vomit Mold and Scrambled-egg Mold, Fuligo septica, found growing on an old log in Derby Canyon, Washington. If anything, the color was even brighter yellow than is shown here. It is reputed to cause asthma and nasal infection in some persons and is often found growing on bark mulch in gardens.
