Sunday Challenge: HDR

I like HDR images if they are not too extreme, and if the processing suited to the scene. I especially like HDR images of abandoned places, automobiles, machinery, street art and similar things. I have decided for today's Sunday Challenge for an older image, in which the HDR processing is very strong. I can understand that for someone this processing is too crass. It shows an old abandoned laundry near Bonn.

Original is in the box.

Oh my... The picture looks great, but most certainly HDR has spoiled it. But a strong vignetting and some more drama added, and would turn into wonderfully gloomy horror movie or a crime story image! Definitely very inspiring at least.

I reckon the HDR adds to the grungyness here, quite a compelling image I reckon would work well in mono

I think the moody sky of the HDR version suits the mood of the image well; I'm not sure how the house itself didn't turn out with the stark clarity of the sky, but I still like the image nontheless :-)

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder Chrissy. Maybe a bit OTT, but it seems to work well here.
