Glencoe

Heading through Glencoe itself we see the valley opening up somewhat. The busy A82 (on the right) speeds tourist through the heart here but many like we, take the opportunity to rest and feast on the scenery. The River Coe is now flowing in the depth of this valley and a very popular scenic track takes walkers and able transport to even better viewpoints.

"Glencoe is a dramatically beautiful glen and village in the Scottish Highlands. Formed by ancient volcanic eruptions and carved by glaciers, it is renowned for world-class hiking, rock climbing, skiing, and haunting historical sites like the infamous 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan."

Herb Riddle replied to Günter Klaus:

Yes, like in your country, there is a lot of natural good scenery in Britain. This part is one of the best loved and well known but there are other places just as wild and beautiful if not more so that people hardly venture to. Glad that you enjoyed my view of it.

Best Wishes. Herbert

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

My pleasure to remind you again of your time around this glen. Must have been great to wake at dawn to a silent almost tourist free wilderness of such beauty. It is my hope that you will get up here again, maybe sooner than later.

Keep well. Herb
