Classic busses

Seen on our walk up to Harter Fell near Ravenstonedale. It looked like this was a service garage for a company called ‘Cumbria Classic Coaches’ and were available for hire. No doubt popular for classic films nowadays.

The image features two vintage Leyland Tiger buses, likely PS1 models from around 1950.
The bus on the left, registered CWG 286, is a Leyland Tiger PS1/1 with Alexander C35F bodywork, first registered in June 1950. The bus on the right is registered CRN 80 and is also a Leyland Tiger PS1, introduced into a fleet in 1951.
Both vehicles are preserved and available for private hire for events like weddings and television/film props.
They are part of a collection of classic and vintage vehicles, often displayed at transport museums and events.

A lovely pair of old buses Herb...........prompting memories of days gone by. Viewed large the detail is excellent and its quite obvious that despite signs of a lot of use, they're both in excellent condition.

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Great that you liked these blast from the past Keith. We could not believe what we were seeing when walking past here as it seemed almost in the middle of nowhere. No doupt they are kept in mechanical tune.
