Ravenstone/Ashway Tunnel pool before its plunge down to Dovestones

.
Two photos here from this spot (see last photo), looking both ways. This shows Alderman Hill in the background before the water descends through a series of weirs eventually emptying into Dovestones reservoir. The previous photo shows the chute itself

The autumnal colours on the hills are fantastic!
An interesting link- I'd have been scared to walk through that tunnel....

Herb Riddle replied to Gudrun:

Glad you liked the colours here. I was very happy to have found that account of the tunnel of which I have passed the top entrance and wondered where it went to, having no idea that it would be here. A walk through that is not for the faint hearted.

Thanks for including the link........I've had a quick look and I've bookmarked it for a more leisurely read later.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend and I wish you a good week ahead.

Yes, the levels are going up again but it will take some time yet. Glad you liked this and followed the link.

If you enjoyed that take a look at this which is even more finger-biting: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSnWsGbDoxE&t=1s
