Happisburgh beach and cliffs.

A trip to this coastline in wonderful weather gives me a chance for some nice sea-scape photos. An unusual format here as I generally shy away from cutting a photo in half like this but I did like these clouds, something I don't see kike this at home.

Happisburgh in Norfolk is a village of very mixed fortunes. As it sits on the edge of the fantastic coast line most people would do anything to live there. However coastal erosion that has been taking place for thousands of years is now threatening the very existence of the village.

The cutting in half works very well here with the clouds adding extra layers and with great lines in the lower part. I read about the erosion, it's a drama for people living there.

Herb Riddle replied to Gudrun:

Glad the format works for you too Gudrun. Many houses and properties have already fallen into the sea around here.

The sky and clouds are quite magnificent Herb.......and definitely deserve the space you've given them in your composition.

I love the light on the water and the stretch of almost pristine sand. The contrasting darker colours of the land complete the view nicely! ⭐️

My type of beach.............deserted :-)

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Great that this image pleased you Keith. Yes a magnificent beach here and as you say, quite deserted really. Cheers for the star.
