Penryn Castle

A bigger view of this spectacular castle. The castle estate was founded in the 15th century but this castle was built in the early 19th century by the Pennant family. Now a National Trust property for our delight and exploration.
Best full screen.

Belated HWW, enjoy the week.

Wales has some spectacular castles and this must be one of the best. It certainly looks formidable with the tall walls and event taller towers and battlements. It's set in beautiful surroundings too. Captured in beautiful light and super detail Herb..!!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Yes Wales has an awful lot of castle, most I think build by the English to keep the Welsh down. This was never one of those though, just a grand home to the local gentry. It started life as a manor house in the 16th century and gradually progressed to what we have today. That being said, it looks and feels quite spectacular, now managed by the National Trust but a credit to the Pennant family. Glad you liked it.

My screen is set a little on the darker side and it actually suits this image well Herb. A really imposing castle and two excellent shots - the PiP softened somewhat by the flowers around the bench.

Best wishes Carol

Herb Riddle replied to Ecobird:

Thanks for this Carol. A fine castle and as I took this the whole scene was a bit overcast. I am glad you liked it. I have two monitors wired to the same PC at once next to each other and they are both different ,as one is wired via HDMI and the other is direct DisplayPort (DP). The DP monitor (MSI) is my main one and it is a bit brighter than the standard HP monitor with its normal HDMI socket. I know that most people do not have the DP so I should compensate by making the finished image a bit brighter perhaps.

Keep well herb
