Loch Alsh from Eilean Donan Castle.

It was almost the end of our Springtime holiday here in Scotland and we had to start our two day road trip back home. Now as things always are, this last day in the North West of Scotland turns out to be one of the best weather days of our two weeks here. As we had a leisurely 254miles (409km) to go to our overnight stop-over, I was to pass through some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery giving many opportunities for my camera. Here is the first capture on this wonderful day.

Looking west from Eilean Donan Castle along Loch Alsh to the sea. Our holiday cottage was just beyond the white cottages on the right. The hills on our left are in fact on the Isle of Skye not far from where I posted photos of the Kylerhea Ferry.

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Hi Keith. A most wonderful spot on which to stand for in the opposite direction lies the castle with its alternative view. The light on that day itself was rather soft and milky prompting me to increase contrast later in editing but that incredible blueness was original. I am glad you liked the results here.
I have in fact isolated 18 images of that day but whether I shall post them all is another question.

Cheers. Herb

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Aye, a scene that you would have relished capturing too Gordon. Only bettered in a sunset. We had one of those almost once and in truth I could have got here from our cottage in 15-20 minutes but a few glasses of red deterred me :) I did think about it though. Glad you liiked it.

Cheers. Herb

Good info and a lovely scene Herb,.. snag is - I find that drivers miss so much of the passing scenery that passengers can enjoy.. nevertheless much can still be remembered .. as it flashes by,.... keep well and go steady,.. from Dj..

Herb Riddle replied to David G Johnson:

In a sense I am lucky as I can always stop where I can with the blessing of Eileen who is quite understanding about my addictive need for yet more landscape photos. I took a lot of photos between here and Fort William.. Glad you liked the pic and info.

Keep well and enjoy the coming week. Herb
