Haha Lothar, you misunderstand this gate. On our public paths (right of ways) and tracks, such as this one, we have many gates and stiles that we have to go through and quite often climb over. This is one such, but a very small, narrow one. The stones are a step, so that cyclist must dismount to pass. The gate here had a strong spring and a catch to unfasten in order to pass. The real purpose of these stile/gates is to stop animals, such as sheep, passing through but allowing humans. - So no postmen here (˚◡˚)
