NC500 Grand Tour. - 10 - Applecross peninsular

We have now left the east coast and are travelling west from Inverness. The North Coast 500 follows the main roads along the coastal edges of northern Scotland and is popular with sightseers and car enthusiasts due to the rugged nature of the terrain – and twisting roads. Here we are crossing over the Applecross Peninsula on the famous Bealach na Bà pass, a winding single track road through the mountains. Next stop: Applecross itself.

A 1993 slide.

Nice riding down perhaps but not so good upwards. I have no idea how busy it would be now in 2024.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

A golden oldie here Gordon as I plat together past photos of the now infamous NC500 or what some people call route 500. Yes, we are out in the wilds here, in truth I was more adventurous in those days. An almost forgotten picture here and glad that you have enjoyed it . You would like it up here.

Cheers. Herb

Aye one from my old slide magazine here. I scanned it around 2012 using my still present Epson Perfection 1660 scanner. Very happy that you liked this.

Best Wishes. Herb
