A Lancliffe lone-tree

Another tree from this favourite little spot up in our Yorkshire Dales near the small town of Settle. This is limestone country and so the chalky rocky breaks easily –easy enough for a tree root to take hold anyway.
See PiP for a favourite tree only a short distance from this.

Enjoy the day.

I don't know what it is about a lone tree, but it makes a very pleasing picture Herb, especially the weather worn trees in winter!!
Two superb shots.

Sunday greetings, Rosa.

Herb Riddle replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

You know by now that I have always liked to capture such trees Rosa. I hesitated putting this up as it has no exciting background scenery like the one in the PiP only a hundred or so yards away. Great that you liked it.

Cheers and enjoy the day. Herb

I really like the shape of this little tree Herb..............windswept and beautiful. It looks lovely against the sky.

I also like the rocky landscape as well. Nice to see the example in the PiP again. You can never have too many lone tree shots!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Like you Keith, when I came across it again a day or so back, I too liked the shape following the hill. Great that you liked to see the PiP again. No doubt more lone trees where this came from.

Cheers. Herb
